Botanical Counter Cleaner
Using traditional kitchen garden herbs to bring botanical anti-bacterial properties to a much used surface
Thyme is a power and effective disinfectant, here brewed into a tea and added to soap and water to create a mild disinfectant counter spray.
You will Need
2 TBSP Fresh Thyme Leaves (or Rosemary Sprigs if you prefer)
2TBSP Fresh Lavender
Glass jar - 1 pint
1 Cup Distilled Water
Pot - Small
1 oz Castile Soap
5-10 drops essential Oils (optional)
Glass Spray Bottle
Cloths
Glass Jar
To Make
Start by making the herbal tea
Place fresh herbs ina 1 pint glass jar.
Bring Distilled water to a boil in a small pot
Pour hot water over the herbs
Let steep for 15 minutes
To make Cleaner
Add cooled tea to Castile soap, and add essential oils
Stir to combine
Add cleaning tea solution to a glass spray bootle
To Use
Spray counters and use a cloth to wipe clean.
You can make ready-to-use counter wipes by adding folded cloth scraps into the glass jar, seal with an airtight lid and store until needed.
**Note - Make sure to use distilled water instead of tap water to prevent bacterial growth.
